Why? Leads from RTF 305 to A Summer in LA

I can see myself living in Los Angeles in the near future and RTF 305 is a class that could give me that opportunity. The University of Texas has a program called the UTLA program. The University of Texas stresses the importance of learning, growth, and individual opportunity, so participating in the Semester in Los Angeles Program would offer a unique opportunity for students, like me, who are serious about exploring academic and professional interests in entertainment over the course of a semester in LA. And according to Mark Dennis, "it's the perfect transition from college life to real life." Also, since RTF 305 is required to participate in this program and fulfills a degree requirement, after reading the first chapter of the book I can happily say that this course will be more interesting than I thought it would be. In addition, I am a Sociology major and always find myself wondering why things are the way they are in our society and what effects does media have on the people of this society.
